You should isolate at home for 7 days if you develop symptoms of COVID-19 (a new, persistent cough and/or a temperature greater than 37.8). You can return to your usual activities on the 8th day if you feel better and no longer have a high temperature.
If you live with other people and you develop symptoms, the people you live with must isolate for 14 days. This is a longer period because the symptoms of COVID-19 can take a number of days to manifest themselves. They may return to their usual activities on the 15th day providing they have no symptoms. If they develop symptoms during that 14 day period they MUST self isolate for a further 7 days from the date of their first symptoms.
